Sarah White

Sarah grew up in Chapel Hill and discovered her love of dance at the age of 4 at Dancentre. Even though ballet has been her initial spark of interest in dance, Sarah finds passion in all styles of dance and movement. Sarah graduated from Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana in 2005 with a B.A. in English and minor in Creative Writing. At Earlham, Sarah devoted her free time to Earlham’s student-run performance dance program, Dance Alloy, as a dancer, choreographer, and co-leader of the program. Through Dance Alloy, she explored all types of dance including modern, swing, Latin, and hip-hop, and shared her fortes: ballet and belly dance. She also taught belly dance lessons at a local dance studio in Richmond. Sarah worked for the American Dance Festival in administrative internship positions for the past two summers, and currently works at Rashkis Elementary School’s after-school program as a group leader and facilitator of dance club. Sarah is delighted to be back at Dancentre where she teaches creative movement explorations and beginning ballet.
